Welcome to J&R BOTANICA; Within these pages, we hope to convey 'our mission', experience, knowledge and 'dedication to our Clientele'.
We provide informational reference in the 'About Us', 'Our Products' and 'Location/Contact' pages. We also offer our "Info-Forum" page, allowing an open dialogue, related to ethnic religious and spiritual issues. In doing so, we realize that we must act responsibly. By ensuring that all published dialogue is civil and ethnically suitable to all readers.

It is surmised that the word 'Botanica' is both an abbreviation and a derivetive of Botanical'. Exactly when or why the 'L' may have been dropped from the word Botanical is not known to me. It may be due to something as simple as a mis-communication of the spoken word. Thus, 'Botanica' became the pronounciation. However derived, the word Botanica has an added meaning in the ethnic spiritual sense. The word 'Botanica' describes more than just the study, sale and/or development of botanicals(herbs, plants, flowers etc.). It has also come to mean spiritual-religious merchandise shop and herbal pharmacy. where one can obtain items used in self medicinal treatments, obtain cleansings, spiritual consultations, ritual tools and garments, charms, talismans, spell kits. Potions, Herbal recipes', baths and washes or accessories commonly used in spiritual activities. For lack of better words, a 'Botanica' is a 'Spiritualist's Supermarket'.
Our mission; Is to serve the needs of ethnic spiritualists, practitioners and artisans of the African, Afro-Caribbean, North, Central and South American' ethnic religions. Some of which are the Yoruba, Orisha, Ifa, Santeria/Lukumi, Aruba, Palo, American Indian' and other appreciated faiths world wide.
We maintain a broad inventory of spiritual candles, statues, baths, washes and garments. As well as, locally made and imported one of a kind novelty items and collectables. We also carry Christian religious candles, statues, prayer cards, rosaries, talismans, accessories for prayer, adoration, adornment and/or protection purposes.
Our quaint little Botanica remains the most complete 'One Stop Shop' in Central Florida and has been since 2003. We are ideally located on the north corner of S. French Ave. and hwy.17/92. In "Sunny Sanford, Florida". Just one street south of Park Dr. and on the left of hwy.17/92; Or, approx. 3/4 of a mile north of Tollway 417 on 17/92; either way is convenient from several I-4 Exits.
